About Us
In 1965, Frank & Geneva Barnhill met while working in a jewelry store in Atlanta. In 1966, they married and today they have two wonderful children and three terrific grandchildren.
In 1978, their dream came true when they opened their own jewelry business. Today, their jewelry store in Dunwoody has been in the same location since 1982 and is one of the nicest jewelry stores in the south. In 2005, Geneva was named Jeweler of the Year by the Southeastern 24K Club.
In 1996, Frank realized a strong demand for low-interest jewelry-collateral loans and opened Avalon Jewelers. Today, Frank and their son Mike have two locations, one in the Shoppes of Mansell Rd. in Alpharetta, and one in King Plaza on Woodstock Rd. in Roswell. Together they have helped thousands of people in need of a short-term loan and want to use their jewelry and watches as collateral.

Frank is a Gemologist, trained by the Gemological Institute of America, and Mike is a Master Jeweler. All jewelry items are professionally appraised in the customer’s presence, and the maximum amount is loaned with only a small interest charge. They specialize in estate, antique and designer jewelry, diamonds and pre-owned Rolex, Cartier and other fine watches.
